Description
Enviro Gel 150 is a hydrophilic pre-polymer. When mixed with water it produces an elastic hydro-gel that has a variety of applications. Enviro Gel 150 will retain up to 5 times it weight in water, is not resoluble, is highly durable and will not harm the environment.
Uses
· Prevention of water leaks in sewerage and drain pipes
· Ground stabilisation
· Prevention of water leaks through expansion joints
· Prevention of water leaks through embankments
· Dust control in stockpiles
· Erosion control from wind and water during seeding operations

Application Directions
There are a number of techniques for applying Enviro Gel 150 depending upon the individual application and site circumstances.
The Internal Packer Method The method is designed for use in small non-traversable pipes and is usually used in conjunction with a closed circuit TV system.
Where a leak is detected, a mixture of Enviro Gel 150 and water (in a predetermined ratio) is forced out through the leaking joint, cracks or hole to form a waterproof seal.
Direct Injection Method This method can be used in larger diameter pipes where there is direct access. This allows the Enviro Gel 150 / water mixture to be injected outwards through the leaking crack or hole into the surrounding ground. Alternatively, a hole can be drilled adjacent to the leak, injecting through the hole and flowing back into the crack or hole. The hole drilled can be later sealed with Enviro Gel 150.
Coatings Enviro Gel 150 sprayed in light concentrations with water can be used for the stabilisation of embankments, sand dunes stockpiles etc.
With the use of Envirosystems’ Gel 150 retarder, a longer pot life can be obtained so that material can be sprayed through a single component airless spray unit.
Processing Procedures
1. Prepolymer and Water
Typically Enviro Gel 150 should be mixed with water at a ratio of;
|
Enviro Gel 150 – 20-80%
|
Water – 80-20%
|
The higher concentration of Enviro Gel 150 used, the stronger the Enviro Gel 150. The Gel150 reacts in approximately 50 seconds to form a white, soft gelatinous gel and has excellent adhesion to most substances.
2. Prepolymer, Water and Retarder
Enviro Gel 150 can be used together with Envirosystems’ Gel 150 retarder to adjust the gel time. The gel time can be adjusted from 1 minute to 30 minutes as per below table.
