Description Enviro Flex is a new low VOC cementitious, two part waterproofing membrane designed on fast setting cements mixed with a high solids water resistant polymer. Enviro Flex combines the fast drying and excellent adhesion characteristics of traditional 2 part membranes with the toughness, elongation and flexibility of modern liquid membranes. Enviro Flex is totally compatible with common ceramic tile adhesives.
Advantages
• AS 4858:2004 – Class III membrane
• Very Low VOC Content
• Fast Drying
• Non Toxic
• Flexible
• Direct stick of ceramic tile adhesives
Uses Enviro Flex is suitable for the following applications: • Waterproofing of concrete and masonry from gas and water transmission. • Internal and external waterproofing • Commercial and residential applications • Application over timber, concrete, render, fibre cement, and particle board. • Over tiling with traditional polymer modified ceramic tile adhesives
Physical Properties • Pack size 40 kg kit • Colour and Form Grey/green slurry • Specific gravity 1.44 kg/L mixed • Mix Ratio 1:1 by weight • Elongation at break 300% • Tensile strength 3MPa at 28 days • Bond Strength 1MPa • Pot life 25 – 30 minutes at 20?C • Set time initial 50-60 minutes • Minimum application temperature 10°C
Application Directions
Substrate Preparation
Surface is to be clean, and free from loose particles, dust, laitance, coatings and curing membranes. All timber based substrates are to be securely fixed to manufacturers instructions and fit for purpose. Drainage and falls are to be installed and all joints are to be appropriately sealed and allowed to cure. Concrete is to have a 28 day cure, render a 7 day cure and timber or composite substrates to be wet area grade.
Instructions for Use
Mix full kits only. Add Part B to part A slowly whilst mixing with a mechanical mixer for 5 minutes. Allow to stand 5 minutes and remix prior to applying. All joints, junctions, penetrations, upturns etc. or where movement is anticipated should be reinforced with woven polyester cloth minimum 190mm wide. Enviro Flex is to be painted onto the substrate, the cloth laid in and then thoroughly wet out with the membrane. Enviro Flex is to be applied in 2 coats to an average minimum dry film thickness of 1.0mm.
NOTE: Do not apply membrane to any concrete that has received artificial curing compounds or has been coated.
Priming
Apply 1 coat of Enviro prime WB to the prepared substrate at a rate of 7 – 10m²/L by brush or roller. Allow primer to fully cure before applying membrane (20 – 30 minutes depending on conditions)
Estimating Data (Theoretical) One 40 kg kit of Enviro Flex will cover at 16 – 24m² based on 2 coats achieving a dry film thickness of 1.2mm for floors and 0.8mm for walls depending on substrate porosity.
Packaging
Enviro flex is supplied in a 40 kg kit.
Curing
Enviro Flex can generally be overcoated in 2 hours depending on conditions. Curing time of 24 hours at 23?C/50% RH is recommended prior to tiling. Newly waterproofed shower recesses should not be used for 3 – 5 days after installation to allow adequate cure.
DO NOT APPLY EXTERNALLY IF RAIN IS ANTICIPATED WITHIN 2 HOURS OF APPLICATION
Cleaning
Enviro Flex is easily washed up with fresh water. Do not allow to harden on tools.
Pot Life
Enviro Flex is workable for 30 minutes at 20?C
Safety Advice
Enviro Flex is non toxic and low VOC. However, the contents should not be swallowed or vapour inhaled. Irritation to skin and eyes may occur. Wear eye protection, masks and gloves when handling. Wash off splashed material immediately with fresh water. If irritation persists seek medical advice. Refer MSDS.
