Application Directions
Substrate Preparation
The surface must be clean, and free from all loose particles, including dust, all laitance, grease, coatings and curing compounds. Degreasing, grinding and/ or captive shot blasting are required to provide a surface profile. Allow floor to dry if degreasing has been carried out, before applying Enviro Epoxy RC.
Priming
Apply first coat of Enviro Epoxy RC as a primer (diluted 10-15% with Enviro Thinner No.1) if substrate is in good condition. The level of Enviro Thinner No.1 required will depend on conditions, application equipment and surface porosity. For poor substrates apply one coat of Enviro Epoxy B or an additional coat of Enviro Epoxy RC and allow to dry.
Mixing
When using a colour pack add to part A and mechanically mix until uniform. Add Part B and remix until components are uniformly mixed.
Application
Mix only sufficient material as can be applied within work time specified. Enviro Epoxy RC can be applied by brush, roller and spray in 2 coats to a minimum dry film thickness of 200 um. At low temperatures, Enviro Epoxy Accelerator can be used to maintain normal curing times. 200ml of Enviro Epoxy Accelerator should be added for every 8ltrs of mixed Epoxy RC. Accelerator shouldonly be added to mixed Part A and Part B and mixed until uniform. To achieve a non slip finish, broadcast selected aggregate onto the first wet coat and allow to cure. Remove excess prior to applying a second coat. A satin finish can be achieved by omitting aggregate.
Estimating Data (Theoretical)
Depending on substrate condition and profile, one 16 ltr kit of Enviro Epoxy RC will cover at 50 – 65m² based on 2 coats at 200 um DFT.
Packaging
Enviro Epoxy RC is supplied in 7.25 ltr and 14.5 ltr kits, proportioned ready for mixing. Colour Packs supplied in 750ml pails and are available in a range of colours. Made to order colours available upon request. Please allow 10 working days for made to order colours. One 750ml colour pack is required for every 7.25 ltrs of Enviro Epoxy RC.
Chemical Resistence
Enviro Epoxy RC is resistant to a large range of chemicals. Guide of resistance to chemical spillages is as follows:
• Sulphuric Acid 30%
• Skydrol
• Xylene
• Acetic Acid 15%
• Sodium Hydroxide 30%
• 20% phosphoric acid
• Sodium Chloride
• Hydrochloric Acid
• Sodium Hypochlorite 16%
• Kerosene
• Ammonia Solution
• Diesel and Petrol
• Volatile Hydrocarbon Solvents
Curing
Enviro Epoxy RC generally can be recoated after allowing to cure overnight. Floors can be open to pedestrian traffic generally 24 hours after curing of the final coat. Vehicular traffic after 3 days. The coating must be allowed to cure for 7 days at 24°C, before being subjected to chemicals.
Storage
Enviro Epoxy RC can be stored in its original sealed containers for 24 months in controlled environments.
Cleaning
Enviro Epoxy B should be removed from all tools and equipment, prior to hardening with Enviro Thinners No.1 or Thinners No.7. Observe all OH&S and MSDS information pertaining to safe usage and handling of solvents. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Safety Advice
Enviro Epoxy RC contents are flammable. Keep away from naked flame. In the event of fire extinguish with foam or CO2. Always provide adequate ventilation and wear appropriate Personal Equipment (PPE) during use. Avoid breathing vapours. Avoid contact with the skin. Wear protective eyewear. If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting, have plenty of water or milk. Seek immediate medical advice. Wash off splashes of material with clean water and soap. If irritation occurs seek medical advice. Refer to MSDS.
