Application Directions
Substrate Application
The surface must be clean, dry and free from all loose particles including dust, laitance, grease, coatings, curing compounds and any other foreign matter. Apply suitable and approved joint caulking material such as Enviro Seal PUR (allow to cure), to all joints, corners and joins prior to application of Enviro 500 PUR.
Priming
Apply a diluted coat of Enviro 500 PUR or Enviro Prime SB to prepared substrate at a rate of 4 – 6m² per litre, by brush or roller, allow priming coat to fully dry before proceeding with final coat of Enviro 500 PUR.
Mixing
Enviro 500 PUR should be thoroughly stirred using a mechanical mixer at low speed prior to application.
Application
Enviro 500 PUR is a 2 coat system to achieve a total DFT of 1.5mm and can be applied using a brush, roller or squeegee. All joints, cracks etc must be sealed with Enviro Seal PUR or similar polyurethane sealant and allowed to cure before applying final coat.
DO NOT APPLY EXTERNALLY IF RAIN IS ANTICIPATED.
Estimating Data (Theoretical)
The consumption of Enviro 500 PUR will depend upon substrate condition and type. As a guide: One 22 kg pail of Enviro 500 PUR will cover approximately 13 – 15m² based on achieving a coating of a 1.5mm Dry Film Thickness (DFT) with the two coat application.
Packaging
Enviro 500 PUR is supplied in 22 kg drums.
Curing
Enviro 500 PUR generally can be recoated overnight depending on the weather. Drying times will vary depending on temperature and surface conditions. Enviro 500 PUR achieves the majority of its properties within 24 hours.
Cleaning
Enviro 500 PUR should be removed from all tools and equipment, prior to hardening with Enviro Thinners No.1. Observe all OH&S and MSDS information pertaining to safe usage and handling of solvents. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Shelf Life
Enviro 500 PUR can be stored in its original sealed containers for 6 months in controlled environments. During storage Enviro 500 PUR may form a skin which is easily removed. This does not affect the use of the product. Enviro 500 PUR is sensitive to airborne moisture. It is preferable to use all contents of container after opening.
Safety Advice
When using Enviro 500 PUR always provide adequate ventilation and wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) during use. Avoid contact with skin. Avoid breathing vapours. Wear protective eyewear. If inhalation occurs, remove to fresh air. If discomfort persists or any breathing difficulty occurs or if swallowed, seek medical attention. Refer to MSDS.
